Move-out cleaning checklist
A practical list to help you agree the job and prepare. Updated 23 October 2026.
- Agree which rooms, surfaces and appliance interiors are included.
- Check the landlord or building handover requirements; they do not automatically define the service you booked.
- Empty cupboards and remove personal items and rubbish before the visit.
- Defrost the freezer yourself early enough; do not leave water collecting on the floor.
- Confirm water, electricity, access and the availability of a vacuum cleaner.
- Identify delicate materials, stubborn stains and any pre-existing damage.
- Agree separately on windows, balcony, oven, fridge and cupboards inside.
- Allow time for a final walkthrough and report any concerns promptly.
